Anthropic has announced the integration of its AI assistant, 'Claude', with the 'Google Workspace' platform. This enables it to now access emails in 'Gmail', appointments in 'Calendar', and documents stored on 'Docs'.
Initially, the feature will be available to subscribers of paid plans such as Anthropic Max, Team, Enterprise, and Pro.
However, companies' senior management must activate this service before employees can use it.
This move aims to attract more users interested in integrating artificial intelligence into their daily task management. Furthermore, this integration follows fierce competition with giants like 'ChatGPT' and 'Gemini', which have previously offered similar services.
'Claude' is expected to help users organize their priorities by analyzing correspondence and automatically identifying important appointments.
For example, the model could suggest family activities based on school events mentioned in emails, while also considering local weather updates.
However, the company has not yet clarified how the system will handle sensitive files, or whether they can be excluded from searches.
Regarding security, an Anthropic spokesperson confirmed that personal data is not used to train the models, and that strict controls are in place for account access.
Notably, each connection between 'Claude' and 'Google' is confined to the individual user, with no information shared between accounts.
In parallel, the company has launched the 'Claude Research' feature. This tool gathers information from multiple sources in under a minute and provides citations.
This tool aims to assist researchers and employees with complex projects relying on data from diverse sources. It is currently available in the United States, Japan, and Brazil for higher-tier plans.
These updates are part of Anthropic's strategy to expand Claude's user base. Claude is considered one of the fastest-growing AI tools, although it still lags behind ChatGPT in terms of user numbers.
