Google Launches AI Mode with Arabic Support, Announces Major Global Expansion for AI Plus

In a major strategic move, Google has announced the launch of its AI Mode in Search to include Arabic, part of a significant global expansion covering over 36 new languages and countries. Concurrently, the company is extending its “Google AI Plus” subscription service to be available in 77 countries worldwide, offering users a suite of advanced features.

AI Mode Reaches Arabic-Speaking Users

Starting in the coming days, users in the Arab region will see a new “AI Mode” tab on the search results page. The feature is designed to deliver an unprecedented interactive search experience, powered by the advanced “Gemini 2.5” model. Users can now ask complex, lengthy questions and receive intelligent, organized answers supported by web links and sources for deeper exploration.

According to Google, this experience isn’t limited to text; it also supports interaction via voice and images, allowing anyone to snap a photo or upload one to ask questions directly about it.

A New Mechanism Redefining Search

Google’s new mode relies on an innovative technology known as “Query Fan-Out.” This mechanism breaks down a user’s single query into multiple sub-topics and then executes numerous simultaneous searches on their behalf. Thanks to this technique, the search process has become deeper and capable of exploring aspects previously out of reach, helping to uncover more comprehensive and accurate information.

In regions where the feature was previously launched, the company noted that users are asking questions two to three times longer than traditional queries, indicating a behavioral shift toward more interactive and in-depth searching.

Google AI Plus Expansion and Its Exclusive Features

Alongside the search enhancements, Google announced that its “Google AI Plus” service has reached 36 additional countries. This paid subscription plan is designed to give users enhanced access to the latest AI models and creative tools.

The subscription package includes several notable features:

  • Higher usage limits for the image generation and editing tool, “Nano Banana.”
  • Expanded access to video creation tools within the “Gemini” and “Flow” applications.
  • Direct integration of the “Gemini” model’s capabilities into productivity apps like “Gmail” and “Docs.”
  • 200 GB of cloud storage as part of the “Google One” plan.

To encourage new users, the company is offering a promotional discount of 50% for the first six months.

New Challenges and Opportunities for Publishers

On the other hand, this expansion has raised serious concerns among publishers and website owners. Several analyses have reported a decline in organic traffic from the search engine in some cases, raising questions about the future of content on the web.

In this context, Google explained that the new mode is designed to display prominent links and encourage users to explore the original sources. However, the challenge remains in balancing the delivery of direct answers with maintaining traffic flow to the websites that form the foundation of the web.
